Roundup Cancer Lawsuit

We help Roundup users get a fair compensation
Diagnosed with cancer after being exposed to the herbicide Roundup? We can file a lawsuit on your behalf and get you the compensation you deserve.

Were you diagnosed with cancer after being exposed to the herbicide Roundup in the last decade? The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently labeled the herbicide Roundup by Bayer Monsanto, the main ingredient of which is glyphosate, as a probable carcinogen for humans.

Several farmers, gardeners and home users who have developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma or other types of blood cancer believe that the cancer was caused by exposure to the herbicide Roundup. By participating in a class action lawsuit, you can make Monsanto responsible for their irresponsible actions with the product and receive compensation for your suffering.

What is roundup?

Roundup is an herbicide that is used to control weeds that threaten agricultural crops. Most Roundup herbicides contain three main components: glyphosate (as active ingredient), solvent (water or inert ingredients) and a surfactant mixture similar to that used in soap.

Is glyphosate carcinogenic?

In the past 30 years, independent researchers have conducted many studies of glyphosate, and a relationship between glyphosate and various forms of cancer, as well as other serious health risks, have been demonstrated. More recently, in March 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), an agency within WHO, conducted a comprehensive analysis on the toxicity of glyphosate. In general, the IARC classifies agents into four categories: Group 1 (known carcinogens for humans), Group 2A (probable carcinogens for humans), Group 2B (possible carcinogens for humans), and Group 3 (not classified).

After its exhaustive study on glyphosate, IARC concluded, among other things, that glyphosate is probably carcinogenic to humans (Group 2A). Recent studies, including a study on glyphosate published in the Journal of Environmental & Analytical Toxicology in 2014, have indicated that “chronically ill people had significantly higher residues of glyphosate in the urine compared to the healthy population.” Glyphosate has been detected in the blood and urine of agricultural workers, indicating that the agricultural use of Roundup leads to its absorption.

Who is at greater risk and what types of cancer can be caused by Roundup?

People who use glyphosate regularly have the highest risk of cancer. The people most at risk of developing cancer are farm workers and others with exposure in the workplace—for example, employees in garden centers, nurseries, farmers and landscapers.

If you worked in those industries and received a diagnosis of cancer, you should consider Roundup the cause. There have been reports of Roundup users who have been diagnosed with the following:

  • Leukemia
  • Multiple myeloma
  • B cell lymphoma
  • Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
  • Bone cancer

Is a class action lawsuit against Roundup effective?

Class action lawsuits are a fairly effective mechanism when it comes to making certain types of litigation, although very few have heard of them. The mechanism is activated when two or more people initiate a judicial fight for having suffered the same damages and losses derived from the same fact. And they can be for environmental reasons, for dangerous drugs, or for dangerous products, among many factors. Ideally in these cases, the advice of experts in the field will be sought, who will give the necessary recommendations to carry out a clean process.

A recent example of class action lawsuits were those initiated against Monsanto, after its product Roundup, a highly polluting herbicide, produced lymphatic cancer in a significant number of people. The German chemical and pharmaceutical group Bayer must now face 18,400 lawsuits in the United States. In August 2018, Monsanto was sentenced to pay $289 million to a gardener affected by non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
